I am starting a new series of video clips, each one no longer than 2-3 minutes.
I’ll be commenting, on a regular basis, on a chart I find particularly interesting for its information content and relevance. These clips will each have an English, French and Mandarin version (not to worry, I’ll only introduce in Mandarin my colleague Ding Wang, who will then go on to comment on the chart).
I chose household debt as my first topic. The level of this debt, while decreasing in the U.S., is still very high and is without precedent throughout history. Consequently, central banks will need to continue to navigate tricky waters for quite some time.
